Why I Started 'Close It Out' Consulting

After years building and scaling privacy operations inside high-growth companies, and more recently as a Chief of Staff, one truth became crystal clear: the best behind-the-scenes operational work often goes unnoticed — until something breaks.
I’ve always gravitated toward the messy middle — that space between policy and execution, where people, systems, and risk collide. Over the years, I’ve led cross-functional operations for startups and scale-up companies alike, often bridging the gap between legal, security, product, and GTM teams. Whether it was standing up data deletion workflows, navigating regulatory shifts like GDPR or CPRA, or building scalable vendor risk programs, I was often the one untangling complexity and making sure nothing fell through the cracks.
But I also saw a pattern: too many teams were flying blind when it came to executing on operational processes. Policies existed, but processes lagged. Tools were bought, but no one knew how to use them. Internal teams were overworked, and privacy was treated as a checkbox — not a capability.
That’s when I knew I could help.
Why Consulting?
I launched Close It Out Consulting to offer companies the kind of operational support I always wished we had — someone who understood the nuance of the business and could drive execution from day one.
This isn’t just “compliance consulting.” It’s partnership rooted in practical experience — making sure you not only define the right processes and controls but actually build them into your day-to-day operations. From automating sales workflows to helping you operationalise your data retention policies, I focus on the unglamorous, high-impact work that keeps your systems efficient, your users protected, and your business moving.
I offer flexible support: hourly, project-based, or longer-term embedded partnerships — because every company’s maturity curve is different. Whether you need a privacy program audit, help implementing a new tool, or a thought partner to scale a support or sales function, I bring structure, clarity, and real operational momentum.
My Approach
I believe good operations should be:
Sensible, not performative
Built-in, not bolted on
Impactful, not filled with busy work
I partner with businesses to untangle cross-functional work, reduce risk without slowing down the business, and help you build trust through better execution. The goal? Close the loop between intent and action — and help your operations scale sustainably.
